At Moods Counseling Services, we understand that life can be overwhelming, and sometimes, you need a therapist who truly gets it. We offer a compassionate and practical approach to mental health care, using evidence-based techniques like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). While we specialize in helping adults navigate the complexities of mood disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, our services extend far beyond just mood issues. We provide support for a wide variety of mental health concerns, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, co-occurring disorders, substance use, ADHD, and OCD.

Whether you’re facing intense emotional challenges or seeking a deeper understanding of your thought patterns, we’re here to support your journey toward mental health with compassion, understanding, and expertise.
To make accessing this care as easy as possible, we offer therapy on your terms: no commute, no hassle, just mental health care from your favorite chair. Why leave home when you can get great therapy in your slippers? Telehealth makes it that easy.
I believe in a holistic, down-to-earth approach to treatment, where your comfort and safety in each session are my top priorities. Therapy with me isn’t just about working through the tough stuff—though we’ll certainly do that. It’s about creating a space where you can talk openly about life’s biggest challenges and complex traumas, but also where you can find moments of relief and laughter. I strive to make therapy something to look forward to, where healing is balanced with positive experiences, and it’s not all tears. I truly believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. My counseling services are designed to help my clients unlock their potential and achieve their goals.

At Moods Counseling Services, I offer a range of specialized individual therapy services tailored to meet your unique needs. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered. Through individual therapy, we’ll work together to address your unique needs and help you build a fulfilling, balanced life. My approach combines cutting-edge therapies and compassionate care to support your journey toward emotional well-being.
I provide structured and evidence-based individual therapy designed to help you manage intense emotions, develop effective coping skills, and build a life worth living. DBT is particularly effective for individuals struggling with mood disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder, as well as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and self-destructive behaviors. In our sessions, my goal is to educate and teach hands-on skills in the areas of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance, empowering you with practical tools to navigate life's challenges more effectively.
In our individual sessions, I use CBT to address negative thought patterns and behaviors that impact your daily life. By exploring and challenging these thoughts, we work together to create healthier perspectives and coping strategies, helping you to overcome issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. Additionally, we focus on identifying and reshaping core beliefs that may be holding you back, empowering you to build new, more positive beliefs that support your mental well-being and personal growth."
My trauma-focused approach is available in individual therapy sessions to help you process and heal from past traumatic experiences. We provide a safe and supportive environment to address complex traumas and develop strategies for moving forward, allowing you to reclaim your sense of safety and well-being.

Hi, I’m Breecole Valdez, the CEO of Moods Counseling Services and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over half a decade of experience in the mental health field. My journey began when I faced mental health challenges during my young adulthood. Having battled some "moods" of my own, overcoming these struggles inspired me to make a difference in others' lives. This led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, which I earned in 2018. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges with compassion and understanding.
My professional career began with an internship at Healthy Futures in Scottsdale, where I gained valuable clinical knowledge and supervision while supporting patients in their recovery from eating disorders. Building on this foundation, I went on to work at Aurora Behavioral Health for five years. There, I facilitated Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups. This role provided me with extensive hands-on experience in treating various mental illnesses at an intensive level, including performing routine clinical assessments and 1:1 crisis interventions for patients struggling with suicidal thought patterns and psychosis.
Outside of my professional role as a therapist, I’m married and a proud mom of two wonderful girls. To maintain balance and practice self-care, I engage in high-intensity interval training at the gym and enjoy off-roading in my 4Runner. My hobbies include camping, playing softball, swimming, boogie boarding at the beach, riding bikes with my family, and playing video games—yes, I get down on some Call of Duty and Fortnite during my free time. I also love exploring new adventures, creating lifelong memories with friends, and attending music festivals like Coachella and Stagecoach. Overall, making the most of my time with family and friends is truly what matters most to me.
